I've been lurking for a while and this site has really helped me to adjust my strategy as I go through the game and I enjoy the game a bit more now for it, thanks.  I'm trying to finish RTLM  and I ran into an annoying requirement to complete a goal.  

In the RTLM event 5.4 they ask you to put a number on your race car because a real race car needs a number, yawn. This costs 4 gold, skipping the event costs 3, do they expect this number to be there later?  That is, is it more cost effective to skip, or should I just do as I'm told and buy the damn number.

FWIW: I don't give a sh*t about the $250k, I'm just trying to get through this as quickly (and cheaply) as possible.
