Is keeping traction control off really that big of a deal when trying to accomplish top times?

The way I see it, if you are skidding, you are skidding, losing speed anyway.

You could argue that if you do skid however, you might not lose as much speed as you would if TC was on.

But I am trying not to skid, and when I do, TC seems to save me from completely spinning out of control.

My other assists are off.
