I have noticed in the Victory Lap race that is rediculous to win, the trick is to keep the first 3 cars from lining up.  If the lead car 3 or 2 cars get in a line by mid first corner, they are gone.

I start by running the adjacent 3rd place car up the track then drafting more on the high lane car. The high lane car will gain more speed and stay side by side with the lower car.  When you get some momentum, swap to the lower car draft and suck up to him by the turn 3. In the turn try to bump him, which will cause him to move up the track.  Side draft him to get next to him or to pass.  If you are to slow to pass, pit him, but watch your back for the pass by 3rd place car.  If you are fast, then you can draft pass.

This is how I was able to get the win on this race.
