Sitting at 98% in Global GT Clash due to the fact that I cant get better than bronze in the Brands Speed Record (17.1)

I have tried offline, online, signed into Facebook, signed out, and every premiatation of the lot. 1st place seems to be 167mph and the best I can manage is ~165.5mph.

I have a fully upgraded BMW M3 GT2 ALMS (GC upgrades included, PR=71.7), and have tried from every angle, every option.

Any tips on how to get more speed coming round the last corner? I remember something similar with a speed snap in suzuka coming out the hairpin, which I managed to do by starting on the grass backed up to the barrier, and I have tried that here but to no avail. Am I using the right car? Does anyone have any tips or tricks for this as it is most infuriating!!!
