On Thursday the first Member of a Parliament in the UK was murdered (assassinated) in over 20 years.
Pease, love, sympathy and respect to her family.
The outpouring of emotion has been huge, by all facets of society - Christian, Muslim, black, white, rich, poor. Vigils are also being held in town squares, churches, temples and mosques. That makes me proud to live in this country. And Aussies don't say that about the UK very often...
The killer when asked his name in court gave his name as "Death to traitors, freedom for Britain". A reference to the fact that Mrs Cox as well as being a PM ran a charity devoted to the support and wellbeing of Syrian refugees.
We are all capable and free to choose to hate, love, tolerate and then act accordingly. We are all also responsible for those actions and how they effect others.
No more words, just thoughts of peace and hope - for Jo (RIP), her family and friends, and all of us.
